Janie Brown died on 44th birthday six weeks after being diagnosed with lung cancer.

An Ayr shire family has raised £600 for local children after taking on the River Ayr Way in memory of their sister.

Speaking to Ayrshire Live, Kirsty said: “Our sister died on her 44th birthday on Christmas day last year. It was six weeks after finding out she had lung cancer.“It turned out to be 46 miles due to a landslide and, in total, it took us 14 and a half hours.
