Baby girl and three-year-old killed along with parents in horror smash
A YOUNG family, including a baby and a three-year-old girl, have tragically lost their lives after a horror crash near Fort William.
Emergency services rushed to the A82 at Torlundy at around 5.30pm last night following the two-car smash between a Mini Cooper and a Ford Fiesta.Two young girls, aged one and three, as well as their parents, a 26-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man, were pronounced dead at the scene.Her injuries are described as serious.A 200-mile diversion was put in place while the 8-mile stretch of the A82 was locked down.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of a two-vehicle crash on the A82 at the junction with Nevis Range Mountain Resort near Fort William at 5.30pm."A diversion was in place via Perth. The road was re-opened at 5am." Superintendent Simon Bradshaw added: “Enquiries are continuing into the incident and I would ask anyone with information or dashcam footage who has not yet come forward to please get in touch.”
