New parents attending the Airdrie workshop helped raise funds for local good cause Bear Necessities
Two Lanarkshire experts supporting new parents teamed up to help families learn about infant feeding – and benefited a local charity with some welcome funds.
A total of 22 mums and dads attended the workshop at New Wellwynd church in Airdrie, with the donated proceeds of just over £100 going to local good cause Bear Necessities – which supports families across North Lanarkshire by supplying essentials ranging from clothes to stairgates and runs free classes and support groups.
She said: “I decided to reach out to Angela to see if we could work together to provide a dedicated, face-to-face infant feeding workshop for mums-to-be, giving them helpful information on feeding and how they can best help themselves. The workshop was “very well received”, with participants describing it as “a fantastic safe space for questions and information definitely set my mind at ease” and “a great foundation of knowledge to give breastfeeding a go using the techniques confidently”.
