Police have made five arrests and say they they have 'disrupted' activities by 'baby-faced bandits' in Manchester city centre. Manchester City Centre Police worked in conjunction with the Greater Manchester Transport Police to make the arrests, which also resulted in a knife being seized from a young man.
During the operation yesterday evening , police made the arrests for various offences, with one positive search resulting in the recovery of the knife. A male was arrested and taken into custody, while police spoke to others in the group along with their parents. Manchester City Centre Police said on Twitter: " #GMPTransportUnit, 5x arrests for various offences tonight. Our favourite, the baby-faced bandits disrupted in our joint partner deployment, one positive search and recovery of a knife. Male arrested off to custody; others in group spoken to with parents. #GMTravelsafe."

At the time it said officers had made five arrests for possession of a knife in the seven days, adding: "This behaviour will not be tolerated within GMP."
