The discovery of the baby comes after his 4-year-old brother was found dead Monday in a lake.
This image made from video provided by KPLC shows a truck passing along the highway where a 1-year-old child was found alive on Tuesday.LAKE CHARLES, Louisiana — A 1-year-old child that had been reported missing was found alive Tuesday when a truck driver spotted the baby crawling near an interstate highway, authorities say.
Calcasieu Parish Sheriff Gary “Stitch” Guillory said the baby managed to somehow survive for two days on his own. The child had numerous bug bites but was taken to a hospital in stable condition. Deputies were called to the welcome center on Monday when the body of the 4-year-old boy was found. Investigators learned the child has last been seen on Saturday with Jack and his young brother.
At about 9 a.m. Tuesday, the sheriff’s office says deputies were called to Interstate 10 after a truck driver spotted the baby in a ditch. The area recently had been hit by remnants of Hurricane Beryl.
