The new hefty price tag comes after last September, a Freedom of Information revealed her legal representatives received at least £980,133.92, according to the Ministry of Justice. A legal source said: ‘What Lucy Letby did was on another scale of pure evil which is very difficult to comprehend.
The appeal was initially turned down by a judge, but she is now entitled to a full court hearing to argue right to appeal. Each of Letby’s offences took place in the neonatal unit where she worked at the Countess of Chester Hospital in Cheshire between June 2015 and June 2016.
