The Bacolod-based Tchoukball Philippine Team met Mayor Alfredo “Albee” Benitez before they flew to Singapore.
The team initially qualified for the World Tchoukball Championships in Prague, Czech Republic, but due to lack of funds, the team decided to back out and instead opted to participate in the Singapore tournament. THE Philippine National Tchoukball Team led by Tchoukball Association of the Philippines president and head coach John Elray Jamelo pays a courtesy visit on Mayor Alfredo ‘Albee’ Benitez at the Bacolod City Government Center before their trip to Singapore for the Southeast Asia Tchoukball Championships 2023.
Newly elected Tchoukball Association of the Philippines president and head coach John Jamelo said the team is filled with anticipation and determination as players have undergone rigorous training and preparation for this prestigious championship.Bacolod City will hold the 2nd Masskara Tchoukball Tournament from Oct. 11 to 13.
Introduced in the 1960s by Swiss biologist Dr. Hermann Brandt, tchoukball is a fast-paced, non-contact team sport that combines the elements of passing, shooting and catching.It is renowned for promoting fair play, respect and teamwork among its participants.
