Residents of Bacoor City in Cavite will hold a plebiscite Saturday, July 29, to decide whether to merge 49 barangays into 18 villages.

The local officials led by Mayor Strike Revilla have since been conducting “Ugnayan sa Barangay” meetings urging the residents of the affected barangays to vote “yes” and approve the merging.

It also aims to reduce red tape as well as promote effective peace and order campaigns and the reduction in the cost of local governance.
