Rossendale Council planning officers said the plans are acceptable and no traffic problems are expected
Bacup Borough Football Club in Rossendale has been given planning permission to extend a club house at its ground, following an application submitted by its long-serving manager Brent Peters.
A report for councillors stated: “The proposal is for the partial demolition of the clubhouse. The section to be demolished is a dilapidated timber structure, with a patio at the front and outdoor seating. “The proposed development includes a number of openings including a roller shutter door on the Cowtoot Lane side. where currently there are no openings. There is currently parking space for 12 cars outside the existing buildings and that will remain unchanged, the planning application states. The agent for the scheme is Andrew Walker of JC Building Design Ltd in Bacup.There are various conditions attached including construction work times and delivery times for building materials. Construction work is allowed between 8am and 6pm on weekdays and 8am to 1pm on Saturdays.
Last November, Brent Peters received a borough council award for his years of service to football. He has held a key role at Bacup Borough for 25 years. He took on the Bacup role in 1997 after a spell at Doncaster Rovers.
