Former White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney says he thinks it’s been a “bad week for Ron DeSantis because it’s been a good week for Donald Trump” after DeSantis was questioned about it he’s running for president while Trump’s popularity surged.

“He’s clearly getting the media attention, he’s got the opportunity to deliver the message, he’s got the opportunity to travel – he can do all the things that an ordinary candidate will do without really making a final decision,” Mulvaney told Sky News Australia about DeSantis.

“He did a really good job as the governor of an important state during COVID, and Trump had some weaknesses – DeSantis thinks people will come down on his side.”
