The annual event sees fairground rides, games and food stalls along Broad Street.
An annual market town fair which dates back hundreds of years will extend its duration in a bid to attract more visitors.
The Banbury Michaelmas Fair will run from Wednesday until Saturday, rather than three days, as part of a trial following a licensing agreement.Other roads closed for the duration of the fair include Bridge Street, Market Place Road and Cornhill. The trial duration for this year's event was agreed with Cherwell District Council. following a request from Bob Wilson's Funfair.
Andrew McHugh, council portfolio holder for greener and communities, said the fair was "a popular part of the town's history". "The town centre is the heart of the community for many and we are always looking at new ways to bring in more visitors and residents to events. "We recognised that opening the fair on a Saturday would allow more families to enjoy the fair during the day and bring more visitors into the town centre."
