Rapper Tinie and Formula One commentator Naomi Schiff are on a mission to find the best car from the 80s, 90s and noughties
, the Brit Award-winner has swapped his mic for a Micra and got behind the wheel of a range of everyday runabouts. “Cars from the 80s, 90s and noughties are having a rebirth,” he declared before the opening credits. “They are now a hipster’s dream.”
The concept is simple: each week Tinie and Schiff celebrate beloved autos from from the 80s to the early 21st century and put them through their paces with a series of challenges. It’s ostensibly a battle for bragging rights between the duo, who face off by racing their favourite modern classic cars. But in reality it’s a celebration of all “bangers” great and small – from the Ford Sierra to the Citroen Saxo.that delivered monster ratings to the BBC.
There was also a surprise cameo from another footballer, French star Patrice Evra, who popped up to rhapsodise about the Renault Espace, a people-carrier that looked like a box on wheels.
