The local fans seem pretty confident, as they probably should be after six years without losing a home ODI series. They have three specialist spinners and think it’s a bit weird that England only have one. It’s apparently a sell-out but the stands are pretty empty as the teams come out, though most of the shady spots are already taken. Up in the excellent press box we have all been presented with some tissues and a snack pack of biscuits which can’t decide whether they are sweet or savoury.
