There's plenty to enjoy inside the park and a choice of pubs nearby
The August bank holiday weekend is upon us which means the summer holidays are nearly over. The weather hasn't been what many would have hoped but there's still been plenty to enjoy and another warm weekend is expected.
Although it could be a little wet, it shouldn't be too much to stop people from getting out and enjoying the outdoors - of which there's plenty to enjoy across Lancashire. For this week's recommended walk, we're again focusing on a family friendly route with lots of activities to enjoy while you're out and about.
The route is based around Leyland's Worden Park, which is located very close to the town centre. The route we've included is one originally drawn up by Visit Lancashire and takes in the quieter fields and woodland which surround the popular attraction. It's worth noting that there are works ongoing at the park meaning there there is a chance these could affect the route so be prepared to look for the odd diversion.
For those who fancy a drink and/or food as part of their trip, there is no shortage of options nearby. The town centre is a only a quarter of a mile away and a short stretch down Worden Lane and Church Road takes you by three pubs - The Fox and Lion, The Stag, and The Eagle and Child.
