Ian Corfield donated thousands of pounds to now Chancellor Rachel Reeves A banker who donated more than £20,000 to senior Labour politicians has landed a top civil service job in the Treasury, it emerged yesterday.
The disclosure, first reported by Politico, risks sparking a 'cash for jobs' row although there is no suggestion any rules have been broken. Mr Corfield joined the Treasury after working as a senior business adviser to Labour between January and July. Previously, Mr Corfield has held senior roles in the private sector, including at Australian banks Aussie and Bankwest.
