A stolen vehicle smashed into another car, officers said
A car flipped onto its side after the smash on Hyde Road, at the junction with Pottery Lane, at around 9.30pm last night . Police said they were first called to the scene to reports of a stolen vehicle.
They gave chase before the stolen car smashed into another car on the main road. No-one was seriously injured in the crash, officers said.A 34-year-old man was arrested at the scene for possession of a Class A drug, theft of a motor vehicle and driving whilst disqualified. He remains in custody to be quizzed by detectives.
Last night, a cordon was put in place as several police, fire and ambulance service vehicles responded to the incident. One of the cars involved flipped onto its side in the middle of the junction, with dramatic pictures showing the damage, including a smashed windscreen. In a statement, a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "At around 9:30pm yesterday evening , officers responded to reports of a stolen vehicle. After officers pursued the vehicle, the stolen vehicle collided with another vehicle on Hyde Road in Gorton.
"There were no serious injuries reported. A 34-year-old male was arrested for having possession of a Class A drug, theft of a motor vehicle and driving whilst disqualified.READ NEXT:
