The bank has clarified the rules in response to a frustrated customer who visited a Liverpool branch
A Barclays customer in Liverpool was left fuming after being unable to conduct their banking in person. The customer was left frustrated when they visited the Lord Street branch in Liverpool - only to find it was closed. A sign informed visitors of refurbishment work taking place from November 16 to 29 and suggested visiting alternative branches in Birkenhead or Warrington .
The support team enquired: 'Could you please let me know the value of the cheque? Do you have access to the Barclays app?' They then highlighted that the app allows customers to 'deposit sterling cheques up to £5,000 each' and detailed some other rules, noting personal customers can pay in up to four cheques per week, while business savers are permitted up to 20.
