Police are now appealing for witnesses
Police are on the hunt after a man attacked a woman at Bellshill railway station before seriously injuring a member of the public who intervened.
Detectives are appealing for witnesses following the serious assault which happened on the platform at 11.37pm on Saturday, April 15. After attacking the innocent woman, a bystander intervened and as a result was seriously assaulted by the raging man. He was rushed to hospital where he was treated for a head injury and has now been discharged.The man is described as white, with a Scottish accent and has a shaved head with lots of tattoos.
He was wearing dark coloured clothing, however, removed his top to reveal his bare chest at the time of incident.
