Roo Irvine, who is a household name thanks to her appearances on antiques shows, has opened up about her life away from the camera
Bargain Hunt's Roo Irvine is back on BBC One, dishing out her expert advice. Starting with a quaint antiques shop in a Scottish village, she quickly found herself in the living rooms of millions. Born Arusha Irvine, she admitted she 'didn't go looking for fame', as stated on her website: 'Roo was discovered after BBC Antiques Road Trip visited her store, Kilcreggan Antiques, in early 2015 and very shortly after BBC producers invited her to join the team of antiques experts.
Her Helensburgh-based shop, Kilcreggan Antiques, was born from personal loss. She shared the poignant motivation behind it: 'My husband and I both had our own marketing consultancy, and we were used to travelling a lot for work, but then both of our fathers passed away within three weeks of each other back in 2013.' 'We left the corporate world behind and pondered what to do, as our mums both needed us.
