Bargain Hunt viewers were left unimpressed after a behind the scenes incident saw a valuable figurine damaged, nearly resulting in ruining one team's potential earnings
Bargain Hunt fans were left unimpressed when an off-camera incident resulted in a sculpture being auctioned for far less than it was valued at. Chaos descended when a valuable item was damaged in transit during an episode of the BBC One show back in April.
Antiques expert Catherine Southon estimated that Ivor and Joe could potentially turn a profit, should they find the right buyer for the sculpture. However, just as the auction was about to begin, host Eric Knowles had some disappointing news for everyone. He added: "In a situation like this, the auctioneer has done his research and it's been agreed that despite what you paid that the minimum you will get will be £60. If it makes more, then you will get more."
Fans of Bargain Hunt took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to express their concerns about the handling of items once filming wrapped up. Some questioned the transportation of the valuables, while others called for staff to be "sacked" over the damage.
