The major Hollywood movie was filmed entirely in Glasgow and was scheduled for release at the end of 2022.
Warner Brothers is reported to have scrapped the upcoming Batgirl film after poor screen-testing results.
The DC film, directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah was set to star major names including Michael Keaton, Brendan Fraser, JK Simmons and Leslie Grace in the main role. Production reportedly cost an estimated 70 million dollars and the film was scheduled for release in late 2022.But following test screenings the studio decided to shelve the production completely, and it will no longer appear in theatres or on streaming service HBO Max, according to US publication The New York Post.
The movie was given 20 times more council funding than any other production in the last five years. Glasgow City Council agreed to give Warner Bros £150,000 to shoot the entire production in the city.
