Police say the woman has been taken to Royal Lancaster Infirmary for treatment
A woman has been rushed to hospital with suspected chest and leg injuries following a three-vehicle crash.
Emergency services were called to the A683 Bay Gateway near Halton shortly after 6am today following a collision. The incident resulted in a blockage of the eastbound carriageway and long delays. Lancashire constabulary said a woman found to have suffered suspected chest and leg injuries and was taken to Royal Lancaster Infirmary for treatment. The road was closed for several hours for recovery works.Lancaster Police tweeted at 6.47am: "Officers are on scene dealing with a Road Traffic Collision at Bay Gateway causing some disruption at the location. Please keep this in mind and plan your route accordingly.
In an update at 9.21am, they tweeted: "Following our earlier post about the Road Traffic Collison at the Bay Gateway. The roads are now re open. Thank you for your patience." A force spokesperson told LancsLive: "We were called around 6.05am today to a report of a three vehicle collision on the Bay Gateway ."She has been taken to Royal Lancaster Infirmary for treatment."
