Manchester United have refused to meet Matthijs de Ligt’s €50m asking price Manchester United’s joint bid for Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui has been rejected by Bayern Munich, according to reports. Erik ten Hag has been dealt a major blow with new £52 million signing Leny Yoro ruled out for three months with a broken foot. The injury to Yoro means United will start the season still short of a central defender following Raphael Varane’s departure.
It’s also claimed that the camp of De Ligt and Mazraoui, who are both represented by, Rafaela Pimenta, are ‘bemused’ by Bayern’s response to United’s offer. Bayern have informed both De Ligt and Mazraoui that they are not part of Vincent Kompany’s plans for the upcoming campaign. Speaking on Thursday, Bayern’s CEO, Jan-Christian Dreesen, reiterated that the club will sell players before the end of the window.
