Baylor signee Brayden Mulkey has had Type 1 diabetes since he was seven years old, but that didn't stop him from chasing his baseball dream.

On a two-hour drive to Caldwell, Brayden Mulkey made his family pull over four times to use the bathroom. Marc and Patrice Mulkey, his parents, knew it was unusual – even for a 7-year-old. A quick internet search led them to WebMD, which told them that it could be a sign of diabetes. They took Brayden to the hospital the next day. The doctor told the family his pancreas didn’t produce insulin, meaning that he was a Type 1 diabetic and would have to wear an insulin pump for the rest of his life.

I think, at one time, he wanted to pursue a military aviation career. But unfortunately, being a Type 1 diabetic, he can't do that in the military.
