The presenter resigned from the BBC last week on medical grounds, nine months after allegations he paid a young person £35,000 and received explicit images from them
BBC presenter Huw Edwards was warned about his online behaviour two years before the scandal which saw him taken off air, it was claimed today. According to The Sunday Times a woman, who at the time was in her late 40s, contacted the corporation in May 2021 asking for them to intervene to get the presenter, from Llangennech near Llanelli to stop contacting her.
According to the newspaper report the presenter was told of the earlier complaint "within hours" by a manager at the corporation. The woman then retracted her complaint after being contacted by Edwards. A third complaint was then made following separate allegations which emerged last July that an unnamed presenter had received sexual images from a young person. Their family complained in May 2023 however the young person, speaking through a lawyer, said the allegations were "rubbish".
