Better was fronted by Leila Farzad and Andrew Buchan The BBC has cancelled the thriller Better, which hit the headlines following claims the two lead actors were having an affair, after just one season. The five-parter starred Leila Farzad, 42, as corrupt detective Lou Slack, who struck a deal at the beginning of her career with the head of a drug trafficking ring, Col McHugh, played by Andrew Buchan, 45.
Leila has never commented on the speculation ‘She is obviously gutted but also accepts that their time together has come to an end.’ It is unknown whether Leila is still in a relationship with husband James. The two are parents to a daughter. The BBC is trimming down on content as part of the broadcaster’s plan to save £500million after the government froze the licence fee for two years.
