Eric Knowles, a familiar face on Bargain Hunt, Antiques Roadshow and other BBC shows, has had an illustrious career in the world of antiques. The ceramics expert first gained recognition on Antiques Roadshow in the 1980s and has since featured on numerous popular programmes, including 20th Century Roadshow and Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is.
By 1981, he had risen to the position of head of department and was later offered a full directorship. By 1992, Eric had established a Bonhams auction house office in Bristol. Eric Knowles' entry into TV Famed for his knowledge of ceramics, Eric Knowles became a household name after frequently featuring as a ceramics expert on the BBC's Antiques Roadshow in the 1980s. The show turned out to be more than just a flash in the pan for him.
On what his alternative career would be, he said: "Had I not followed a career in antiques I might have taken two different routes one being in the big outdoors and the Forestry Commission or the indoor studio working in Radio as a DJ." Following Seb's untimely death, he was remembered for his remarkable talent. Amongst the heart-felt tributes was one from the prestigious National Association of Disc Jockeys , which stated on Facebook: "All of us at NADJ would like to send our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Seb Knowles who tragically died earlier today."
