Nigel Havers, a former Coronation Street actor, appeared on BBC Breakfast to discuss his upcoming tour, 'Talking B*****ks'. However, Naga Munchetty had to intervene when Havers came close to using the word from the tour title on live television. Munchetty explained that the word was deemed inappropriate for the morning show. While acknowledging that the word was acceptable in other contexts, she insisted that it was not suitable for their program. Havers, understanding the situation, agreed and instead referred to the tour as 'talking nonsense'.
BBC Breakfast host Naga Munchetty had to swiftly intervene to prevent her guest from uttering a 'rude word' on live television . On Friday's show (February 7), Naga alongside her colleague Charlie Stayt, was sharing the day's top news stories internationally and domestically. During the programme, ex- Coronation Street actor Nigel Havers graced the iconic red sofa to chat about notable moments in his acting career as well as his upcoming tour.
Nevertheless, as Nigel began to delve into details about his tour, Naga immediately cautioned him due to a potentially offensive word in the title that could spell trouble for the BBC morning show. Naga warned: 'You know what I'm most fascinated about? Obviously, we can't say the name of your tour because it has a rude word.' However, Nigel, responding to Naga, nearly risked breaking her directive, prompting her to emphatically interject with a sharp: 'Don't! Don't!' Seeking to reassure the presenter, Nigel said: 'No, I'm not going to, I would never say it! But I did check up on this word, and someone said this word in the House of Commons a year ago or so, and the speaker said, 'wait a minute,' and he checked and then remarked 'it's fine.'' Naga confirmed the acceptability of the word but maintained: 'It's fine! But we're not going to on Breakfast telly.' The actor agreed before describing the show in a more TV-friendly manner by calling it 'talking nonsense'. Titled Talking B*****ks, Nigel's tour marks his inaugural one-man show, where he will regale audiences with a series of entertaining anecdotes, reports the Express. Nigel teased his upcoming solo show with a synopsis that promises an intimate journey through his illustrious career. The actor shared: 'Well, here it is – my first ever solo show. Just me, a stage, and a lifetime of gloriously ridiculous stories to share. You'll get the full Havers experience: charm, wit, and absolutely no running in slow motion.' He continued: 'I'll be taking you on a thoroughly entertaining trot through five decades in showbiz. From my early days as a fresh-faced drama school hopeful, to the highs and lows of a career that's seen me in everything from Chariots of Fire and Empire of the Sun to Don't Wait Up and some rather marvellous West End plays – and more than my fair share of Palladium Pantos.' Nigel also hinted at juicy anecdotes and candid revelations by adding, 'Of course, there'll be behind-the-scenes gossip, tales of triumph (and disaster), moments of sheer madness, and a fair bit of talking b*****ks.' BBC Breakfast is on BBC One and BBC iPlaye
