Luxmy Gopal teamed up with Ben Boulos in an edition of the show, but eagle-eyed fans spotted one thing about the star's outfit choice

A BBC Breakfast star received an influx of complaints about her outfit, before the show was taken off air. Luxmy Gopal was on TV screens, partnered up with Ben Boulos for an edition of BBC Breakfast - but a number of viewers noticed something about the star's outfit.

Fans took to social media to share their thoughts after she wrote a post wishing the Lionesses good luck on Sunday, August 20. She wrote: "Good morning sunshine! Ben and I are in red, white & blue in support of the #Lionesses ahead of the #WorldCupFinal. Happy Sunday from all of us here on @BBCBreakfast". But the use of blue - which fans branded "Scottish - left viewers at home disgruntled.

Breakfast aired from 6am until 7.25am before Match of the Day and Sunday Morning Live aired. The show promised "a round-up of national and international news, plus sports reports, weather forecasts and arts and entertainment features," reports Birmingham Live.Replying to Luxmy's post, a fan said: "Let’s get plenty of balls in the box and let the big pair upfront do their thing, good luck to the England team as well." Martyn typed: "A very good morning to you too....

But Billy sniped: "Nice Scottish blue!!." Gill said: "Why blue? That's Scotland's colours!" Other fans were more kind to the presenter, though. "Good morning Luxmy and Ben hope you both have a lovely day xx," Kev said. Mark said: "Good to see you both on the sofa this morning. Great job." Barrie said: "Brilliant morning news at Breakfast Luxmy.

Another said: "The dynamic-patriotic-duo, with your cheery disposition and wonderful ear-to-ear-smiles has woken the nation on a tide of wonderful optimism. Let’s hope it carries through to victory in Sydney but no matter what the outcome GIRLS here and elsewhere have WON! Top show guys."
