BBC staff have issued a statement following the news of 5 Live presenter John Hunt's family, as his wife and daughter's are believed to be victims of a triple crossbow murder, which they described "utterly devastating."
The note to BBC 5 Live staff read: “The news today about John Hunt’s family is utterly devastating. Our thoughts are with John and his family at this incredibly difficult time and we will provide him with all the support we can.” The public have been warned not to approach Clifford, who is believed to be armed. In a press conference on Wednesday, Chief Superintendent Jon Simpson from Hertfordshire Police told reporters the deaths are believed to be “targeted”.
"Given the serious nature of the incident, I would ask anyone who knows where he is to contact police immediately. If you believe you see him, please do not approach him and dial 999 straight away. He may still be in possession of a weapon."
