Annita McVeigh was among the five presenters who were scrapped from the air last year as the BBC merged its news channels.
BBC News presenter Annita McVeigh - who was taken off air for an entire year in 2023 - has made a return to screens today, much to the delight of fans.
In celebration of her comeback, Annita shared a post on social media, which was met with a wave of support from fans. A third fan commented: "Congratulations on your return to BBC News. It was a travesty that you had to reapply for your position." And a fourth added: "Wonderful news Annita. Welcome back."
