BBC Radio 2 legend Johnnie Walker has been left housebound as he continues to battle Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis, revealing that he could 'die at any moment'

Legendary DJ, Johnnie Walker, is now completely housebound as he battles Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis - and has revealed that he has "only a finite amount of time left" before passing.

Tiggy, herself a broadcaster and long-time producer, has said she now acts as her husband's "carer 24/7', adding that their lives have changed beyond "all recognition". Opening up about Johnnie's health, she revealed a trip to broadcast his show from Wogan's House in London on New Year's Eve had a devastating effect, sharing: "I expected him to be tired the next day, but something far worse happened.

Speaking about the care that his wife gives him, he added: "She very lovingly helps me get into bed and gives me a nice kiss good night, and then she has to wonder whether I’m still going to be alive in the morning, which must be pretty hard for her." The radio DJ began working at the BBC in 1969, starting out at Radio 1 before moving to Radio 2 in 1998. He currently hosts Sounds of the 70s and The Radio 2 Rock Show at the station.
