Chief content officer of the BBC, Charlotte Moore, was probed on if Top Gear would be returning at a Broadcasting Press Guild event
The BBC has issued a fresh statement on the future of Top Gear amid Freddie Flintoff's recovery from a crash.
The 45-year-old Lancashire and England cricketing legend is continuing to recover from his injuries. Last month, the BBC announced that 'it would be inappropriate to resume making series 34 of Top Gear', after an internal investigation into the incident which left Flintoff airlifted to hospital.Speaking yesterday at a Broadcasting Press Guild event, chief content officer of the BBC, Charlotte Moore, was probed on if Top Gear would be returning.
She continued: "I think we’ve got to talk about what Freddie wants to do. When someone’s in recovery, I don’t think we would push that … I think that would be really inappropriate, I wouldn’t be happy. I think you’ve got to be really human about this and do the right thing.” Freddie Flintoff , from Preston, was hospitalised and left with broken bones after the accident in December - in which the open-topped car he was driving is said to have flipped before sliding along the track itself, ChronicleLive reports.
