BBC host John Humphrys slapped down Portsmouth City Council leader Gerald Vernon-Jackson as he lamented the Government's 'inaction' to prepare for no deal Brexit, with the broadcaster insisting the council requires no more money for preparations.
Mr Vernon-Jackson insisted the Council"hoped" their preparation would be enough but revealed the Government warned the local port could see a boom of lorries diverted from Dover due to extra checks applied on the continent.
