Another celebrity to join BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing is musical and Bad Education star Layton Williams who says talks iconic playlists and representing his community
Strictly Come Dancing can be daunting, so Bad Education actor, Layton Williams, 28, reveals he’s already got his own mantra for the live shows, “Go out there, feel cute and slay!”
“I’m in awe of all the male dancers,” admits Layton. “When we had our little taster day, we were going around and I had a thought who it might be – then it would change every time I switched partners.” “As long as it’s fabulous, as long as it’s me and authentic to what I would represent,” he says. “I dress many different ways when I’m Layton, so why wouldn’t I do that on Strictly? I want to represent me, and represent my community.”
“It is the gayest, most girl-pop group playlist you’ve ever heard in your life,” says Layton of his selection. “Queen after queen after queen and icons – hopefully they pick a couple of the songs. But I trust they know what they’re doing when it comes to the decisions. The team knows what’s going to entertain, so I’m ready to go along for the ride.”
