BBC Radio WM presenter Elise Evans has announced she will be leaving her role at the station after five years - leaving fans heartbroken

BBC 's Elise Evans has announced that shes saying farewell to her role after an eventful five-year tenure with the broadcaster. The 34 year old radio presenter took to social media to share the news of her departure from BBC Birmingham and Black Country Radio, leaving many fans disheartened, though she assured them she intends to "go out with a bang."

Posting to X, the platform previously known as Twitter, Elise shared: "I'm leaving @bbcwm. What a mad 5 years! Highs and lows but got to work with some lovely folk and had some brill experiences. Time for some new adventures. Last show is 25th August and we're going out with a BANG! More info coming soon! For now, Radio WM - thnx 4 the memories x."

Elise received warm commendations from both listeners and colleagues, including fellow BBC broadcaster Rakeem Omar who wrote: "In the same 5 years I've had, I've watched you achieve so many amazing things there has never been anyone like you Elise and there never will be.", reports the Mirror. One of the broadcaster's fans lamented: "Aw... I'm sad to hear this... I remember those COVID breakfast shows with you and Sam on the news, and Liz and Matt in Ops...
