Actress Julie Stevens, who starred in a number of Carry On films and also became a household name on children's TV during the Sixties and Seventies, has died aged 87
Beloved British actress, presenter and singer Julie Stevens has sadly passed away after a three-year health battle. The star, known for her roles in the classic espionage television series The Avengers and Carry On films, died at the age of 87. It was revealed that she had been battling Parkinson's disease for the past three years.
The public announcement read: "Julie Stevens. I received this from her daughter Rachel. It's with great sadness I let you know that Julie died on Thursday, after a difficult 3 years with Parkinson's. Thankfully it was very peaceful at the end." Julie, a cherished face in children's television, graced the screen on the classic BBC show Play School back in 1965 and wove stories for Watch With Mother in 1967. She kept captivating young audiences throughout the 1970s with appearances in shows like Girls About Town and Cabbages And Kings, later enchanting a new generation with Look And Read in the 1980s.
