Janey Godley has been met with an outpouring of love and support from fans as she shared an update on her health, revealing that she is now receiving end-of-life care. The 63-year-old comedian announced in September that she would be entering palliative care and moving into a hospice, and confirmed earlier this month via social media that she is now there.
Initially diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2021, Janey received treatment and was given the all-clear, but sadly, the disease returned. Throughout her battle, she has consistently kept her fans updated about her health. On Friday, she posted a heartwarming video from her bed, joined by her friend Shirley Doig, captioned: "Watching the outpouring of love everyday is utterly outstanding," The pair, self-proclaimed "Swifties," sang along to Taylor Swift's 2012 hit 'I Knew You Were Trouble' and Elbow's 'One Day Like This', while enjoying the view from her window.
"I don't have all the answers that you have all the questions to, but my mouth's a bit dry hence that noise," Janey added, before sending her love and blowing a kiss to the camera, reports the Express. The comedian received an outpouring of support from fans, including @SignpostA who wrote: "We love you Janey." Another fan, @Muminthecountry, remarked: "What a woman. Still making people laugh. A reminder of how lucky I am."The sentiments were echoed by @liz_langfield who said: "Much love to you and Shirley. Enjoy the beautiful day and the view."
