Mark Chapman fought back tears as he paid a heartfelt tribute to Carol Hunt and daughters Hannah and Louise
A BBC presenter was visibly moved on live television as he spoke about the devastating loss suffered by his colleague John Hunt, whose wife and two daughters died in a horrific incident covered.
Suspect Kyle Clifford, 26, was apprehended on Wednesday evening following a 24-hour manhunt. Clifford was found near a North London graveyard and was taken to hospital for the treatment of his injuries, police reported.Mark Chapman, who is not only Mr Hunt's colleague but also a good friend, confronted the sad news head-on during his time on-air for BBC Radio 5 Live while covering the Euros 2024 pre-match between England and The Netherlands.
As Mark Chapman delivered a heartfelt tribute during the sombre announcement of the three deaths, his voice broke with emotion as he said: "So on behalf of everybody connected to 5 Live sport, our love and thoughts and support are with John and his family." People across the country have been offering their sympathies, with former footballer Michael Owen expressing on social media: "And while the country celebrate , spare a thought for John Hunt. I can't remember feeling so utterly horrified in years. Those poor girls. Truly horrific."
