A major BBC star has been seen with a huge plaster on the back of his head after suffering 'nasty head injuries' after he was hit by an electric bike while crossing the road
Have I Got News For You star Ian Hislop has suffered a head injury after he was hit by an electric bike. The 64-year-old was spotted out in London last night with a large bandage on the back of his head, in photos obtained by Mail Online.
Confirming the accident to The Sun, a spokesperson for Ian’s magazine, Private Eye, said the star was "hit by an electric bike whilst crossing the road yesterday afternoon". At the time, a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police confirmed: "Police were called at 10.10am on Tuesday, 1 October to a report of a firearms discharge on Dean Street, Westminster. The driver of a London black taxi reported he was stationary in traffic when a shot was fired towards his vehicle, striking the window. There were no injuries. An investigation has been launched."
Days later, the star laughed off the incident during an episode of Have I Got News For You that week. “I always say at this point I’m glad to be here, but this week I really mean it,” he joked to the audience.
