Former BBC Breakfast presenter Louise Minchin has spoken out about the traumatic birth of her first child Mia, who is now 22, after it emerged Louise's appendix had burst just days later
Reliving a harrowing experience from her life, Louise Minchin has opened up about the terrifying moment she thought she might lose her life following childbirth. The journalist and former face of BBC Breakfast shared her ordeal on Gabby Logan's The Mid Point podcast. Louise explained that just six days after giving birth to Mia, her first child who is now 22, she ended up with a burst appendix - an event so severe, she believed she was facing death.
She continued, "Literally six days after she was born it burst, while I was in hospital, and it was very dramatic and very traumatic and that's the only thing I've ever had help with actually, because I just thought I was going to die."
