Jay, cherished by viewers for his work on the BBC, shared some intimate truths with presenter Alan Titchmarsh in an emotional live discussion.
Jay became visibly moved when mentioning Gerald Bailey, whom he considers a brother. He said: "Gerald Bailey is classified as my brother.After pausing to regain his composure, Jay spoke of the commitment Gerald had made to support him. Jay spoke candidly about the significant role Gerald's family has played in his life, going so far as to refer to Gerald's parents as his own. He shared that he sees them every Saturday and is under the watchful care of his "second mum" who checks in on him regularly.
He also opened up about his upbringing in Hackney, revealing how showing any vulnerability there would make one "a victim".
