Exact date 'heavy snow' to hit Leeds next week
Leeds, like most of Yorkshire, is set for a temperature drop next week - along with some January snowfall. The city will see some heavy snow showers and sleet throughout the week, so you may want to dig out your thermals.
Thursday will be sleet showers and a moderate breeze, with sleet coming in from 8am and lasting until lunchtime. There will then be some light rain in the evening. The weekend will not be snowy though, with just some showers on Sunday. Met Office forecaster, Aidan McGivern, has said that a jet stream coming to the UK from the northwest has brought with it the chilly weather that we can expect next week. In Leeds, temperatures will hit lows of 3°, with a 'feels like' temperature of -1°.
"This subtle change into the start of next week will see colder weather coming in and rather than prolonged bouts of rain from the west, we’re likely to see rain and showers coming from the northwest.
