Luke Chambers takes the winning shot at the trust's Dry Sandford Pit reserve near Abingdon.
The extreme close-up of an armed nomad bee won first prize in the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire & Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust 2024 Photography Competition.Mr Chambers said he had taken about 10 frames to achieve the desired detail.
"It wasn't an easy photograph, but it was worth it and is one of my favourite images to date. To win this competition with it means a great deal." The contest was launched in April with nine categories including taking action for nature and mobile phone photography.
