Beach Boys co-founder Mike Love remains hopeful that Brian Wilson can continue to make music with the band even though he has been placed in a conservatorship.

Wilson and his family announced their intention to make that move back in February, after his wife, Melinda, died.“He was remembering things I’d forgotten about our high school days. His long-term memory is right there,” Love said. “His musical abilities, as long as he’s alive he’ll have those, but he does need medical supervision and care. His wife did take care of that.”
“He knows that he needs the help but we’re still able to get together and we’re going to see each other soon,” Love continued. “It’s not so negative as it sounds. As long as he’s cared for properly. He’s seeing his children… he’s being well taken care of.” Love added that Wilson and the other band members haven’t had a chance to collaborate but, “it’s a brand new day now and I’m hoping we can do something together - all of us - and it’ll be great”.
Wilson’s publicist, Jean Sievers, and business manager, LeeAnn Hard, were appointed as his conservators. Hard is also the trustee of Wilson’s estate.“He’s living in so much gratitude right now that he got to tour all these years.
