EXCLUSIVE: With Princess Beatrice gracefully stepping up to shoulder a number of royal engagements, sources explain why her sister, Princess Eugenie, is happier to 'take a back seat'
As the Princess of Wales continues her recovery from abdominal surgery, Princess Beatrice has gracefully stepped up, shouldering unofficial royal engagements to keep the Windsors afloat.
“Beatrice stepped up to represent the royal family at mental health week recently which is an event Kate would have attended,” the source said. The source reveals that despite encouragement from Palace aides, Eugenie seems content with a quieter life, preferring to focus on her growing family with husband Jack Brooksbank.
“Both the King and William have seen how well Beatrice has stepped up in recent weeks and that’s why they are happy to push her to the front and represent the family in public. The situation became even worse for the royals earlier this year when it was revealed that King Charles had been diagnosed with cancer and the Princess of Wales had gone into hiding to recover from abdominal surgery.
However, the Palace's strategic decision to emphasise Princess Beatrice's involvement in royal engagements while subtly diverting attention away from the York family is clear. With the older York sibling taking the lead, the Palace aims to project an image of stability and continuity within the royal fold, all while sidestepping any potential controversies surrounding the Yorks.
