Plymouth City Council approved the felling of trees at the Regimental Training Building on Lambhay Hill Road to create a security fence - much to the disapproval of local residents.
A council has approved plans to chop down 'beautiful' lime trees at a military base, citing 'national security' as their reason to do so.
The seven lime trees stand outside the Regimental Training building on Lambhay Hill Road in Plymouth, Devon'The proposed replacement fence is a requirement for the site given its security status - so Officers need to balance the needs of the application with the need to ensure that mature trees in a conservation area are not needlessly felled or, at least, not suitably replaced.
