A pergola, new path, two wooden archways and a bench has been erected at Alexandra Park as part of a £17,000 investment from Glasgow City Council's Dennistoun Area Partnership.
A beautiful memorial area where people can remember their loved ones who have passed away has opened at a park in the city's Dennistoun .
The striking features are at the centre of a new Peace Garden being created by the council in partnership with the Friends of Alexandra Park Group. The new pergola, path and archways are a major step forward for the project. He said: "I would like thank the Dennistoun Area Partnership for helping us fund the Peace Garden, also the local councillors that have helped us along the way and of course the local community - without you we would not have a Friends Group!"Local councillor and Chair of Dennistoun Area Partnership, Councillor Allan Casey said: "The pergola provides a lovely focal point in the Peace Garden where people can sit and remember lost loved ones.
