'Everywhere in the village offers something different so there's not really a rivalry between anyone'
Nestled in the east of Birkenhead lies a quaint village that remains unknown, or at least unvisited, by many people across Merseyside. This is changing however, as foodies and Instagrammers begin to catch on to Oxton 's unique offering of independent businesses. Oxton may be modest in size, but it has a charming high street rich with cafes, bars and restaurants as well as attractive residences and pretty green spaces that locals are proud of.
The village is beautiful; it’s part of Birkenhead but is its own little thing at the same time.' Ever wanted to try your hand at painting your own pottery? You can do just that while sipping coffee at one of Oxton's quirkier establishments, Bisque-It. Open Thursdays through until Sundays, the venue welcomes anyone from youngsters to the elderly, no matter what their artistic experience. Fontaine Fadiora opened the café seven years ago after seeing a vacuum in the village.
