Bebe King's parents, whose daughter was tragically killed in the Southport stabbings, shared their experience of spending a precious week with their daughter at Alder Hey Children's Hospital's bereavement suite. The suite allowed them to say their final goodbyes and create lasting memories before her funeral. The family spoke of the beautiful and personal funeral which honored Bebe's spirit and their commitment to living life to the fullest in her memory.
Bebe King's mum says Alder Hey Children's Hospital gave her a perfect week with her daughter to let them say their final goodbyes. In the days after the Southport stabbings, where Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven; Bebe King, six; and Alice Dasilva Aguiar, nine, were killed, Bebe's parents spent borrowed time with their daughter.
” On the last day, her parents did a final bedtime routine, reading her her favourite book, Jack and the Beanstalk before leaving. Her mum said: “I kissed her and that’s how we will remember her.” Bebe’s funeral took place in a private ceremony at St Cuthbert’s church in Southport on August 17. Bebe's mum described the day as 'beautiful'. She added: “It was Bebe’s church for the day. She used to love this T-shirt that said ‘Strong Girls Club’ on it.
